Leads
Depending on your MA tool settings there could be a few reasons as to why Leads are not appearing in your MA Tool after they convert. After clicking “Send to MA Tool” you may encounter an error as to why the problem is happening.
Field Mismatch
When sending a Lead to your MA tool you may encounter an error due to a field mismatch.
A field mismatch issue is where the value we are trying to send to your MA tool is not being accepted, for example, our Revenue field is trying to send a range ($50M - $100M) to a drop-down select field in your MA tool that does not contain the value.
To fix this confirm the following:
-
Confirm your MA tool fields Revenue / Employee / Countries / State / Industries contain our normalized values: Normalization for Revenue / Employee / Industries / Countries / States
-
Confirm your MA Tool UTM fields contain the values that are being sent, for example, if your MA UTM Campaign field is a drop-down select field it should contain the value that we are trying to send either Dynamically or Custom. – we recommend if possible for the field type to just be single-line text which will allow any value to be entered.
-
Double-check case sensitivity for example If your MA tool field is a drop-down select field and contains the value “metadata” but our platform is trying to send the value “Metadata” it will fail due to the case sensitivity and they should match exactly both the field label & system value.

If the error still occurs please reach out to support@metadata.io
Intermittent Error
At times Leads can fail to push to the Marketing Automation tool repushing the Lead again will successfully push to the Lead.
- To repush the Lead that has the error navigate to the Lead and open the details of the lead and click Update and send to MA:
The Lead may have already been pushed to your Marketing Automation tool as our manual enrichment team may have already looked at the Lead and pushed it. If you need to check if the Lead is sync to MA you can view the details of the Lead:
Campaigns
Failed
- For the most common reason why Campaigns fail please see this guide
Active Cannot Spend
- If the status of the campaign contains experiments that have the status Active Cannot Spend, this generally means the Ad or Offer associated with the Experiment is currently in review or there is an error.
- Navigate to the native channel where the campaign (experiment) was launched check to see what the status of the Ad is as this will indicate if there might be a problem with activating the Ad.
- If you are unable to find this please reach out to support@metadata.io and we can assist with checking the status.
Audiences
Audiences can fail uploading to the channel for a number of different reasons, in some cases you may just need to try re-uploading the audience again which you can do via the actions menu:
Audiences may also fail due to a missing field that was previously added to the audience you are trying to build:
Other reasons why audiences can fail:
- Your Meta Ad account may be full since there is a maximum of 500 audiences that can be uploaded to Meta. To resolve this delete some audiences and try to upload again.
- Your integration is invalid. Try reconnecting the integration.
- You may not have accepted Terms to create Custom Lists with Meta. To resolve this navigate to Meta natively and open your Ad account and go to Audiences and accept terms.
- Your Ad account with Meta may not be able to create Custom Lists yet. You need to have minimum one Campaign created to be able to do this.
- The fields/criteria added to the audience for Salesforce may no longer exist/user may not have the necessary permissions to access them.
- For example, Website is a default field we use for matching and if the integration user doesn't have access to see this field Audiences will fail.
Please reach out to support@metadata.io if further assitance is needed.
