Starting January 2025, there will be restrictions on customer list custom audiences for housing, employment, and financial products and services (including credit) campaigns for advertisers based in the US or reaching audiences in the US.

How this can impact your campaigns via Metadata on Facebook/Instagram:
- Advertisers who are creating a housing, employment, or financial products and services, including credit, campaign (e.g. selected “Special Ad Category”) and then choose a Customer List Custom Audience in the targeting set-up for that ad.
- Complete the certification as per Meta in January 2025 for your advertising account - https://www.facebook.com/legal/customer-list-custom-audience-certification
- Failure to do this may result in the inability to publish campaigns.
- If you share custom audiences between different ad accounts, users who are added to your account need to ensure they are not using any free emails as indicated in the summary from Meta.
