Writing this in November so, I think I'm safe in announcing the most *iconic* release of the season:
Now that we've covered that, let's get into what's new at Metadata.
A theme we've been working through all year is continuing our streak of building small tweaks and updates to improve platform experience and ease of use. This month is no different - except we have a couple of new features that will legit make life in the platform easier.
Last month we went full "basic fall girl" into the release. This month let’s turkey trot into this release:

New to Platform
Onboarding Tracker
No need to log into the platform and ask, "where's that turkey?" when it comes to making sure you're all set up and ready to go in Metadata. You asked, and we listened. |
There are three main sections to the onboarding tracker:
- Technical
- Make sure everything is set up
- Activation
- Getting started with campaign set up
- Acceleration
- Optimizing and running legit campaigns

V1: Playbooks
Did you catch the playbook announcement at DEMAND? If you didn't hear about our vision with playbooks from Gil, our founder, and Jason, our VP of Marketing, check it out here.
Playbooks are fresh out of the heads of some of the brightest Metadata folks and customers. Think of them as a checklist of objectives, how-to details, and specific procedures you can follow to run legit, high-performing campaigns.
Want to help create a playbook with Metadata? Let's link up! Talk to your CSM for more details.
Bulk Upload Text
With this feature, you can upload text into Metadata Library with the four most used fields:
Headline, Text, Description, and Display URL.
Ready to set up bulk text upload? Follow this handy guide.
Enhancements
Google Ads Update: Performance View
The updated view on the experiments table shows Google ad performance, including the campaign and experiment status columns, directly from the native channel with the ability to pause, restart, or edit bids from Metadata.
Why this is awesome: we’re bringing the native functionality you love to Metadata.
Display Update: HTML5 Ads
You can upload HTML files into the library and use them as an ad on Display campaigns.

Marketo Audience
Can't you hear Oprah saying, "You get a Marketo audience, and you get a Marketo audience?!" Just me? Ok. Why this matters: better usability within the platform for Marketo users. |
Ready to build? Check out this step-by-step set-up guide for Marketo audiences.
SFDC Custom KPIs
It's happening: you can sync custom KPIs from Salesforce to get a full picture of the funnel performance within Metadata.
Why this matters: Many Metadata customers track leads progression through the funnel stages in Salesforce. Previously, Metadata only allowed to pull custom KPIs from Marketing automation systems. We've expanded your view.
and speaking of custom KPIs...
Custom KPI Reporting
Custom KPIs will be added as additional columns to the Experiments table and Performance Reports by Audiences, Ads, and Offers.
Previously, custom KPIs were only available to the customers in aggregated reports like Cohort Analysis and Dashboard Funnel.
Why this matters: multi-variant experimenting at scale – users previously didn’t have a chance to evaluate the performance of the individual experiments or their ingredients by metrics relevant to their funnel setup. Now that deserves a turkey dance, am I right? You can learn more about custom metrics here. |
Presets: Website Engagement (GA4)
A powerful preset view for Brand Awareness campaigns has entered the chat.
Metadata now includes an action dropdown in the Experiment Table and Website Engagement Report, allowing you to adjust the budget and pause/restart experiments.
Why it matters: flexibility and control for YOU.
FYI
Product Updates:
- Google Ads - Search Term Improvements: We have new columns for the following areas: experiment name, added/excluded, and keyword.
- Experiment name is clickable and shows the experiment preview
- Added/Excluded - shows what keywords are and are not in campaigns
